Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, supply-air jets, stagnant corners, doors, and surfaces that do not represent the monitored space.
Match analog or digital output, power supply, update interval, alarm logic, enclosure rating, and network architecture.
Allow the sensor to stabilize, compare it with a suitable reference at the installed location, and verify engineering units, scaling, update interval, and alarm thresholds.
